Ruskin Introduces BTR-250 Bubble-Tight Isolation Damper

The Ruskin BTR-250 heavy-duty isolation damper is ideally suited for system containment or decontamination applications commonly found in laboratories, medical facilities, clean rooms and federal buildings. Designed to provide bubble-tight airflow leakage performance in systems with up to 10 in. wg pressure, the BTR-250 meets the requirements of the bubble test as described in AMCA Standard 500-D. Every BTR-250 is leakage tested to 10 in. wg at the factory.

The BTR-250 is available in sizes ranging from 4 to 36 inches in diameter (I.D.) and includes a flanged channel frame for ease of installation. While the BTR-250 built to standard construction includes round flanges, Ruskin offers this model with an optional square flange design to support all jobsite mounting challenges.
Additional options include factory-drilled mounting hole patterns in flanges, factory-supplied and mounted actuators, and switches.

Amelia Airflow, a character dedicated to explaining the functions of a building’s HVAC system through an animated video

Ruskin®, recently began a strategic partnership with the Buildings Products and Channel Learning team to elevate the sales training sessions available to Ruskin sales representatives. The partnership led to the creation of Amelia Airflow, a character dedicated to explaining the functions of a building’s HVAC system through an animated video.

Amelia, along with her sidekicks known as “The Amelions,” was introduced at the AHR Tradeshow held recently in Atlanta. “Amelia Airflow: A Basic HVAC Mission,” provides viewers with foundational education on building airflow through Ruskin® air control equipment, illustrating its movement through duct systems before it is distributed in spaces where we work or live.

Creating Amelia Airflow required cross-collaboration between graphic designers, artists, technical instructors and learning-experience designers, all of whom partnered with Ruskin product managers to craft her story. The highly-detailed product descriptions and realistic HVAC system design provide viewers with an engaging and educational opportunity to learn more about the journey that fresh air takes to keep you comfortable!

Thank you for making Ruskin’s 2019 AHRExpo a huge success!

We thank all the visitors, customers, staff and representatives for visiting our booth at AHRExpo, 2019 in Atlanta. We hope you thoroughly enjoyed the expo and Ruskin’s hospitality.

The exhibition was a great success for Ruskin and gave us the opportunity to show some of our latest air control solutions including; dampers, louvers, controls and air measuring stations, which generated a great interest.

Please, do not hesitate to contact us by clicking HERE for any questions or feedback you may have following the exhibition.

We look forward to seeing you all in Orlando next year Feb 3-5, 2020 for more exciting air control innovations from Ruskin!

Energy Efficiency with Cooling and Lighting Integration

It’s good to look back over previous projects you have worked on such as product development and see how they have been actualized. One such project I was involved with was developing a product called the VENTUS LUX, which completed with its own patent recently. We worked on the project in partnership with HOK Architects.

The concept is to integrate the efficiency of chilled beams with energy saving LED lighting. This product is a dream to designers, as it means fewer installed components visible within a room. The kit is also at least 30 percent more efficient than traditional VAV systems as well as having more compact ductwork. With 60 to 75 percent of space cooling accomplished with integral coils it equates to a more economical use of space when fitted in ceiling cavities.

The Titus VENTUS LUX artfully combines air, water and light into a high performing chilled beam device.
